Ruben Studdard won the American Idol of Season 2.
He now sings pop R&B to gospel.
After the Idol, he recieved a Grammy Award Nomination in 2003 for
Best Male R&B Vocal Perfomance.
One of his famous song is called "Celebrate Me Home"
He sang this song for the final of Season 2, and
he sometimes comes back to American Idol,and sing this song for the contestants.
Personally, i like this song too.

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood tried out for an American Idol in Season 4 and she won.
She is very famous for Country Music, and has sold thousands of CD thought her Carrier.
In the year of 2006, she on the prize for AMA which stands for American Music Award, and Billboard Music Award. She is the first American Idol who won the Grammies as well.

Personally i dont usually listen to country songs; however, i like her songs.
One of my favorite song from her is "Before He Cheats".
This song was really popular when i went to the United States, so when i listen to the song
it reminds me of my memoried in the U.S.

Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert made it to the 2nd in Season 8.
When he came to the try out, everyone was so impressed how he could sing!
He easily made it to the Final; however, he could not win at the finale competing with Kris Allen.
Still he made a huge reputation among Americans.

His latest song "Time For Miracles" was chosen for the movie "2012".
He also released his latest album called "For Your Entertainment"
The album consists 14 songs including "Time For Miracles".
I personally recommend his album because it has a lot of songs that represent himself.
It has rock songs to ballad songs. I hope he can make his concert here in Japan!

He is from Arkansas, and tried out for an American Idol in Kentucky.

He got a lot of people's attention by singing Apologize by One republic, and Heartless by Kayne West.

Recently, he released his latest album called "Kris Allen"

The album consists 13 songs.

One of the song that i favor from his album is called "Bring It Back".

katherine Mcphee

She is an American pop, R&B singer, and she was in the season 5. She made it to the Finale competed with Tylor Hicks, but she could not be the American Idol. However she releases a lot of good songs, and as she is such a beautiful woman, She is also an actress, and model.

One of my favorite song from her is "Over it". It is her first single after the American Idol, and it went Gold in 2008.This song is about a person who is trying to forget about the lover ,and its a little bit sad song, but the music is very good, and I think she has a great voice!

Daughtry

He was in the season 5, and made it to Top5! After the American IDol, Chris Daughtry decided to make a band(Daughtry). The band is Rock, and from North California. Their debut albumn was released in the year of 2006, and it is the fastest selling debut album in Soundscan history!

One of my favorite song from Daughtry is called "OVER YOU". This song is in their debut album.

kris or Adam?

This year season 8 had finished broadcasting in the U.S. The America decide their American Idol.

The final of season 8, there were Kris and Adam. They are both very great singers obviously, and they are completely different kinds of singers which made it funner for this season. Adam is a really ROCK singer, and on the contrast Kris is more POP kind of singer. At the final, they sang 3 songs. First song was their favorite song from the past performances, the next song was the song made just for them called "No Boundaries", and the last song was the judges picked up for them.

I think they both did an awesome job. I personally voted for Adam, because i had never seen such a perfect contestant in past seasons. So,who will be the next American Idol?

The result came. The America voted for KRIS!! He became the new American Idol.

I am sure that even though Adam could not be the Idol, he will be very popular. The reason why is because everybody knows that he is one awesome singer! This season was recognized as the hardest season ever, because there were so many great contestants! I actually loved all of them, and hope they will release a CD in the future!

He was in the Season 7 and he became the 7th American Idol.

He tried out for an Idol because of his brother. His brother was trying out for an Idol, and he recommended David Cook to try out for it. So obviously he wouldn't be in the music industry, if his brother was not there. When I first heard him singing in the audition(Nebraska), I had a feeling that he will go to the final round, because he knows what kind of singer he is, and he does not change his music style.He just sticks with ROCK! I do not really listen to rock music, but every time he sang in the Idol, it got me a lot of interests on his performances. The reason is that he can sing whatever from soft rock to hard rock. That is the reason why I was looking forward to seeing him sing every week.One of my favorite performance from him is when he sang "The World I Know". He sang this song in the final, and I really liked it.

After the Idol, he released his first album called "David Cook".

The album includes his first single "Light On", and the song he sang at the final

called "Time of My Life". I really like both of the songs, but one of my favorite song

from this first album is "Avalanche". This song is rather a pop music than rock, but he can

sing whatever. The another song is called "Permanent". This song is very emotional song that

every time he sings on the TV, I get goosebumps! Hopefully, he will be able to come to Japan for

his concert sometime!

Jordan Sparks

She was the winner of the Season 6 which was 2 years ago.
When she tried out for an American Idol, she was only 16 years old.

However her great voice really impressed the judges.

She auditioned in Seattle, WA and sang "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion.

She made it through to the next round, and on of the judge Randy even predicted her to win.

Jordan Sparks made it to the final without being never in the bottom three, and she was one of the youngest idol they had ever had before. One of my favorite performance from her during season 6 was when she sang "If We Hold On Together" by Diana Ross.

After the idol, she released her first album, called "Jordan Sparks".

In that album, there is the song called "No Air" which became

really popular in the United States.

The song is a duet with the singer Chris Brown who is also very famous.

There is an another song which is "This Is My Now".

This song was made when she was in the final round of American Idol, and

the song became her first single.

My favorite song from this album is "Permanent Monday".

This song is about a girl missing her lover, and the day the lover left,

she calls it permanent Monday.

I think this song is very moving also it directly shows her great voice!

Elliot Yamin

Elliot Yamin is one of the popular singer in the United States and also in Japan.

He was the contestant in Season 5 and made it to the TOP 3. After the idol, he released the album "Elliot Yamin". One of the famous song from his is "Wait For You". After about a year past, he came to Japan and hold concert. After holding concert in Japan, the song became very popular, and sometimes he was on Japanese TV shows. Recently, he released the new album "Fight For Love", and he is coming to Japan for concert again.

On 22st of June, I got to go to the concert of Elliot yamin in Osaka Billboard.

The concert started at 9:30 p.m.

He started his concert singing "Cold Heart" from his new album.

I was very delighted to see him in my real life, and i had never thought

that i could actually get to see him sing. Therefore, I was really happy.

The concert lasted untill 11 p.m.

He sang many songs from his new album, but also his first album.

My favorite performance from last night concert is when he sang

"Wait For You".

This song reamainds me of my memory when I was in America.

I sang this song at Talent Show in high school.

That is why i love this song, and I was really happy to see him sing.

I hope he will come to Japan next year too!

My favorite contestant from this season so far is Allison.

I seriously can not believe that she is only 17 years old!I think she has one of the greatest rock voice in this season, and her performance is also really good!Everytime she sings, all the judges say 'You can sing anything'. I hope she can go as far as she can.

This time I am going to introduce my favorite contestant from the past season. My favorite contestant from the past is David Archuleta. He is exactly the same age as me, and I had watched him through the season 7. Although he did not win the competition, he was very popular in the show, and never had been the bottom 3 through the entire weeks of season 7. One of my favorite performance from his is when he sang "In This Moment" in the final. After the show, he released his first album "David Archuleta" including his first single "Crush". It hit the chart, and he is very famous in the world. I cannot believe he is same age as me and I truly respect him a lot.

She was the contestant from season 3. Jennifer Hudson made it through to the Top 12 finalists, but she could not get enough votes to be the American Idol. She ended up being 7th, but i think she was doing a great job, and i believe that she has one of the strongest voice in this world today. As you might know that she was in the musical called " Dream Girls ". She won the Golden
Globe Award as best actress in a supporting role, also the Academy Award for best supporting actress. It shows that how much American Idol gives each contestant an opportunity after the show. One of my favorite performance from her is when she sang a son called "Weekend In New England". That was absolutely hot performance! She is really talented!

This season is a little bit unusual compare to the past seasons. They are supposed to have Top 12 Finalists from the final, but this year one more contestant made through to the final. He is Anoop. I suppose the judges could not decide whether Matt or Anoop should be in the final. I truly think they made a right decision, because they are completely different types of singers. Matt is who sings mostly R&B and Soul music. On the contrary, Anoop is kind of singer who sings mostly Pop and Rock. That tells us the reason why they both made it through to the final.

So the question is who is the first contestant heading home? The first week of season 8 Final has begun. The title of the first week is "The songs from Michael Jackson". The top 13 finalists are Adam, Alexes, Allison, Anoop, Danny, Jasmine, Kris, Lil, Matt, Megan, Micheal, Jorge, and Scott. They worked very hard on this to make it through to the Top 12! After their performances, America had voted for the contestants. On the next day, the elimination has begun. The contestant who had a least votes this week was Jasmine (a picture below) which means she has to head home. She sang a song "I'll be there". She is one of the youngest contestant in this season. Even though the judges liked her performance, she had a least votes. This is the interesting point about this show. Now she goes home and get back into her normal life. My favorite contestant from this week is Michael. He sang "You are not alone" but Michel Jackson. That was great! On of the judge, Simon often says that Michael is not good enough to be the next American Idol, but i think he is very talented! I am looking forward to watching his performance next week. Now each week one contestant has to go home. Who will be the next to head home...?

The First Blog

My very first blog is to introduce what the American Idol is. First of all, American Idol is known as one of the biggest viewed TV show in the United States of America. It has been broad casted for 8 years. This show is a competition to find a new singer which is called the idol. One interesting point about this show is that anyone can try out for the American Idol. Even if you are not good at singing, you might be on the TV if you are funny. Whether you can be the next American idol or not is depending on the judges. The judges are Simon, Randy, Paula and this year includes Kara, but they are not the only ones who judge. The other judges are the American viewers. The first try out holds in all over the places in America such as LA, NY, Chicago. The second try out holds in Hollywood, then only 24 of them can make it through to the third try out(This year 36 of them). After the second try out, the judges are American viewers. You can give a phone call to vote for a contestant who you love or hope to be the next American idol. The contestants who can make it through for the final round are only 12. At final round, each week one contestant who has least votes goes home. The winner of the American Idol receives a million dollar, and release a CD. This is how this popular show American Idol goes on each season.

Season 1 was on the year of 2002. The first winner of the American Idol is Kelly Clarkson. She was only 20 years old when she tried out for American Idol. She absolutely blow the judges away. I think she is one of the best singer I have ever seen on the entire seasons of American Idol. Her voice is very strong, but it also shows sensitive sides depending on what kind of songs she sings. I believe her best performance from Season 1 is when she sang a song called 'You are all I need to get back'. After she became the first American Idol,she has been popular in all over the world. Her famous songs are 'Walk Away', 'Since you've been gone', 'Because of You'. There are so many songs that are very popular. According to Sony Music, she has sold over 20 million albums world wide. She has won two Grammy awards too. Her newest album called " All I Ever Wanted" is now on sale. Her latest single " My Life Would Suck Without You" is now becoming popular around the world. you can listen to that song even in some stores in Japan or on the TV show too.
